To help us take the next step, we are hiring a Head of Investments, Data & Operations.

This is not your typical Head of Investments role. We are looking for someone exceptional who enjoys going broad: from macro and portfolio construction to trading, data, operations and technology. You take ownership of our portfolios from front to back office and lead three highly motivated teams, supported by experienced management. Leading people goes hand in hand with getting things done yourself. What you will do:

• Lead three teams: manage, coach and develop our portfolio management, data & operations and trading teams. Set priorities and drive for results.

• Run key mandates: act as first-line Senior Portfolio Manager on important mandates for key partners.

• Own our macro view: build our monthly macro and market outlook and translate it into our portfolios.

• Shape portfolio construction: a passive core and active satellites, within each portfolio’s risk budget.

• Own first-line investment compliance: ensure every portfolio respects its investment restrictions and regulatory requirements.

• Ensure professional execution: efficient, on time and in line with best-execution requirements.

• Keep us efficient: keep our set-up scalable across more than 500 mandates, model portfolios and funds. Spot automation opportunities and turn them into practical solutions with our software development team.

• Master the full chain: from investment decision to settlement and reporting, with custodian banks, fund administrators, transfer agents and delegated portfolio managers.

• Lead launches and projects: run new fund and mandate set-ups from design to go-live.

• Grow our ManCo services: drive the further development of our services for third-party funds and partners.

• Oversee delegated portfolio managers: take a pragmatic approach. Compliance is the starting point, not the end goal: what counts is real insight into how each manager performs, manages risk and stays compliant.

• Represent ShelteR IM: be a trusted partner for clients and business relations, and present our investment views at client, partner and industry events in the Belgian market.

We are looking for a person, not a job title: highly competent, versatile and entrepreneurial. You enjoy both the big picture and the operational detail. You are not an analyst who reads research most of the day and comes back with investment ideas. You think about how portfolios are built and what it really takes to succeed in asset management.

• Education: an excellent academic track record.

• Experience: a broad asset management background across front, middle and back office, combining investment and operational skills.

• Markets and approach: strong insight in macro and markets. For you, asset allocation drives results and Core-Satellite is second nature: passive where it is efficient, active where it truly adds value.

• Expertise: UCITS, MiFID, fund of funds management, fund due diligence and selection. A perfect grasp of custodian banks, fund administration, transfer agency and delegated portfolio management. Knowledge of CSSF Circular 18/698 is a strong plus.

• Leadership: a natural leader who builds, coaches and develops teams while staying hands-on.

• Overview: you keep a clear view in a complex environment and quickly see where something risks going wrong.

• Communication: sharp, clear and concise, on paper and in front of an audience.

• Efficiency: you are in full command of your data, identify automation opportunities and drive them through.

• Client focus: service and trust are at the heart of our business. You combine empathy with professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility.
